Simeon Wines Vineyards Irrigation Upgrade

Simeon Wines Vineyards Irrigation Upgrade, Australia

Nestled in the South Australian Riverland, Simeon Wines, Qualco vineyards cover approximately 600 ha, and are supported by two extensive irrigation systems supplying water from the Murray River.

We were engaged to Project Manage and design the upgrade of the irrigation system to enhance reliability and cater for future vineyard expansion.

The work included installing around 5km of varying size pipeline; a task requiring creative design techniques to ensure the pipeline resisted the enormous thrust generated by the fittings in locations where space was limited.

The project commenced in late June 1999 with preparation of designs, material supply tenders and manufacture. A contract for construction works was let in late September 1999 and completed on program within the confines of an operating vineyard during the critical period prior to harvest.
